Teenager beats India’s Vidit Gujrathi in a speed play-off at the Prague MastersThe chess world’s rising star Alireza Firouzja, aged 16 and exiled from Iran, won his first major trophy last night when he defeated India’s Vidit Gujrathi, 2-0 in a speed play-off in the Prague Masters.The pair had finished in a five-way tie on 5/9 with Jan-Krzysztof Duda of Poland, David Anton of Spain and Sam Shankland of the US. Firouzja and Vidit had the best tie-break scores so contested the play-off.
