Tata Steel Chess India: Carlsen and Lagno lead after nine rounds of blitz

The Tata Steel India Blitz tournament began with fast-paced, exciting action in Kolkata, as Magnus Carlsen and Kateryna Lagno (pictured) took the lead in the open and women’s sections, respectively. Carlsen, fresh off his rapid triumph, scored 6½/9 on Saturday despite a key loss to Arjun Erigaisi, while Lagno impressed with an undefeated 7/9, securing five wins and four draws.
