Starting Friday: World Rapid and Blitz Team Championships

The World Rapid and Blitz Team Championships will be officially opened on 1 August in Astana, Kazakhstan. The five-day event will feature both the world champion, Ding Liren, and the world’s top-rated player, Magnus Carlsen, alongside a star-stunned lineup of super-grandmasters playing alongside amateur players. Rounds 1-4 of the rapid are set to take place on Friday.
